Water Softener Maintenance

electronic water descaler

We are continuing our series on water softener maintenance. As we discussed in a previous article, the ScaleBlaster electronic water descaler is a popular residential hard water solution because it requires no ongoing maintenance. A water softener, on the other hand, is one of the hard water treatment options that does require a lot of maintenance. Our previous article discussed the need to clean the resin tank, replace the resin, and also drain and clean the brine tank.  Today, we will look at two more water softener maintenance requirements.

Clean and Adjust Valves

A water softener has valves that need to be cleaned at a minimum of twice a year. The valve between the resin and brine tanks needs to be cleaned each time the brine tank becomes clogged. The ScaleBlaster electronic water descaler has no valves or parts that need to be disassembled or cleaned. In fact, unlike with a water softener, no water or chemicals run through the ScaleBlaster system at all.

Inspect Regularly

If you have a water softener, it is a good idea to inspect your equipment regularly, ideally every two or three months.  You will need to specifically check for bridging, which is when salt builds up in the brine tank, resulting in the salt not being able to contact the water and preventing the resin beads from being effective. This ultimately causes the water to not be properly softened. The ScaleBlaster electronic water descaler is a residential hard water solution that does not need to be inspected on a regular basis.

If you want an affordable, maintenance free, effective residential hard water solution, then look no further. The ScaleBlaster electronic water descaler is one of the most popular hard water treatment options on the market today. It is also a limescale eliminator that is effective in water scale removal / pipe scale removal.  The ScaleBlaster electronic water descaler is available at Home Depot (in-store and online) and online at Lowe’s and Costco. We invite you to give it a try today!
